Hello! I joined a group of bloggers hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life to share the changes we made to our homes for Spring. If you are coming from The Chronicles of Home so happy you are here, I love all the changes Jennifer made to guest room and the Spring updates. I really like joining blog tours because not only do I get introduced to so many great bloggers and different styles it also helps to push me to share all the little changes I have made to our home for Spring! For those of you new to my blog, welcome! We live less than a mile from the beach and an hour outside of New York City in Connecticut. We live in an 1100 square foot cape with a painted painted piano, double hanging chair, 2 girls and a baby boy. So happy you are here! Come see our home ready and wishing for Spring to arrive, we actually just had snow last week, hoping this tour truly welcomes Spring.
I shared on THIS post the changes we are making to our front room. We have lived in this home for two and a half years and I was getting the itch and it was probably due to Spring fever to change some things in this space. I just moved the colorful rug we had here to my daughters room and I am really enjoying THIS new rug. It really brightens up the room.
I moved some accessories around that I already had. I notice that just shifting things that I already own can make things feel new. The best thing to do it pull everything off of the shelves and tables and put them in a pile and then start adding everything back in different spots! Buying a couple new key pieces will go a long way. I added some new art from Minted. I picked out pieces that felt summery and beachy, like THIS picture above.
I sold the ottoman we had here and got THIS new one from Wayfair. Living in a small house you use every inch of it. Our girls are always doing crafts or coloring on the ottoman we had so switching to a wood table is more functional for us. (And these accessories don’t stay here long with our 11 month old baby crawling around…but a mom can dream for a picture or two:)).
I did add THIS pink pillow, oh and I LOVE it! Amazing how one pillow can freshen up a space.
I used to have THIS hanging light in the corner. But unfortunately it had a run in with the husbands head. So I just added THIS floor lamp from Wayfair. I have had this on my wish list for a long time. I really love the look of it and how much light it offers in a room that doesn’t have an overhead light.
I do still have a new chair coming for this room and a new sofa! I will be sharing those soon. So stay tuned.
Two other new pieces of art I added to this wall by our sideboard. The lifeguard chair reminds me exactly of the chair sitting on our beach. You can find the Lifeguard Chair HERE and Beach Scene HERE.
We recently painted our piano pink. I mean what says Spring more than a pink piano?! You can read more about our piano HERE. And I painted our large clock white (it matches more of the clock for sale now HERE).
I cut out a piece of the wallpaper that once was on this wall and framed it. Easy way to add some Spring art to your home. And it is a little memento too!
Our kitchen is feeling more like Spring with the new chairs were got last week. I sold the ones we had here, I didn’t love the ones we had with the butcher block counter even though I did still like them. You can find my new chairs in fog and white HERE. I couldn’t decided on one so I did both colors!
This was actually the last photo I took of our settee and this area right before we moved everything out to get ready for our banquette that is going to go here.
I got THESE white pillows on the settee for the new banquette that is coming. They are indoor/outdoor pillows. The large fringe on the edges are the greatest part! I love the all white for a base and then I can mix in some color if I want to later.
I did just added these new pictures by the door. THIS pineapple gets me excited for Spring and Summer and all those barbecues we are going to be having! Also our freshly painted back door feels so much lighter and brighter for Spring too. Amazing what a can of paint can do to change things up for the seasons. (Roast Chicken Art HERE).

Really the only changes I made to our master bedroom was to take out the knitted throws, and fur pillows. I kept the same white bedding but added the blue indigo pillow and the mirrors on either side of the bed.
Spring means de-clutering and spring cleaning for me as it does I think most of you. In our bedroom I try to keep most surfaces pretty clear besides the books we are reading and things we use everyday. We actually have two dressers and a chair in this room too, you can see more of it HERE.
I recently shared the changes we made to Finn’s room in this post HERE. Such a loved little space.
The girls shared bedroom feels like Spring already to me with the bright fresh colors. I like to keep their main bedding white so I can switch up the pillows and blankets with the season changes. (Their bedding is from Beddy’s you can use code NESTING15 for 15% off your order).
This is the double hanging chair that is a major happiness boost to our little cape, you can read more about it HERE.
If you follow me on Instagram you know I was just installing THIS new wallpaper! This little dormer area has bothered me and just didn’t feel finished with the black chalkboard wall down below. Now it feels complete! I added THIS pop of blue in the pillow for Spring too.
One of my favorite and FREE ways to decorate for the changing seasons is with fresh clippings. I am always on the look out when we go for a drive….(don’t report me). Honestly freshly clipped greens will last a long time in water and make it feel like Spring- trust me and keep clippers in your car:)
I shared more about the wallpaper in a separate post HERE! Thank you so much for stopping by my Spring tour- hopefully you got a few ideas for some easy Spring changes you can make to your home.
Make sure to follow along with the tour for some Spring Inspiration! Head to Refresh Restyle she has so many great ideas on her blog for Spring and Easter, you will be inspired to add some easy changes to your home too!
