As an artisan and designer I have always embraced color and lately have been all over the color map in my posts! It always goes back to my basic interior aesthetic based around white and neutral furniture and walls. A late summer look here at the house with…
…accents of blue. No surprise there really as a long time lover of the blues in the Crayola box of 64’s, the blues of the sea and sky and my husbands’ blue eyes:~).
And with the blue pots that I was fortunate to acquire as freebies and talked about HERE filled with the incredible blues of delphinium and a pair of new muted blue velvet pillows from World Market I’m all set.
I made a ticking pillow awhile ago from some great indoor/outdoor fabric that I found as a remnant one day over at Calico Corners and trimmed it in more weather resistant fabric with ruffles. When I was in London a couple of months ago I purchased these fabrics and have been debating on either sewing up pillows or who knows what! They too were on sale, with the fabric on the left from my visit to Cabbages and Roses and the one on the right from my visit to Shabby Chic Couture…
I blogged about both of those shops and highlighted the names with the link if you’d like to see more…
Three simple vintage jardinerières and a French platter with a story told HERE and the bottom plates stood on end for interest…
As time goes on the delphinium is fading to a lavender color and I’m going to try my hand at drying them for display or a future project…
Speaking of projects…I whipped up this number on Saturday that started out life as a portrait frame and have some great ideas in a comprehensive tutorial over on my eBay blog for you to create something similar. You’ll find that one HERE and its incredibly quick and so easy to do!
